Thank you for your prayers! Daisy had no adverse affects to the medicine today!
We expected that, and that is good. The real breakthrough was that she did better with fear and pain than ever before. Daisy said that Jesus answered our prayers about these things directly today.
This is great news because she had felt as though God had not been answering our prayers about pain and fear for the last few appointments. We talked about prayer this morning and what it means to trust God and act on His promises and we prayed together a lot.
She had a major spiritual victory! Truly her heavenly Father carried her through the day and she knows it!
She is feeling well and is in great spirits.
Thank you for your partnership friends. We love you all.
Things are transitioning a bit with Daisy. It seems as though we have gotten over a hump with some of the big physical challenges, though we are experiencing small side effects of Chemo and Radiation like fatigue, sores in the mouth, strange bowel behavior, etc.
But the main challenge now seems to be emotional. Now that huge amounts of pain are not a daily issue, Daisy is asking a lot of questions about her body and cancer and what it all means. She has been getting depressed, crying a lot for no reason, feeling some shame and embarrassment, etc. We are praying and loving her through it.
We are still working toward giving her all the details of stuff she will still endure, but she is fragile, so it is slow going… We think she is starting to wonder why she has been getting dozens of beanies in the mail…
The main issue this week is Chemo on Thursday. Radiation everyday is going well, but the thought of going to Chemo again terrifies her. This is a picture of her and Kate at Chemo last week and you can see by the look on her face that she is not stoked.
Though she seemed to come through it great last time, she is really dreading going back. The thought of the needle sticking in her chest for a long time and all that is just too much for her right now.
So, we can use prayer in those areas. We are pretty emotionally drained as a family and it seems to be getting a little harder right now. But the Lord is our strength and joy and is so near in the midst of it! We are loving and worshiping Him!
4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
5Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
9The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
-Philippians 4:4-9
At 2:30AM this morning Daisy tooted! Praise the Lord!! Since Daisy’s intestines are working again they have her on clear liquids. Here are a couple milestones you can pray for:
- The goal is to reduce Daisy’s pain medication down to Tylenol today.
- At 11AM Britt and Kate will be meeting with the oncologist who will have the pathology results. Pray for peace that passes understanding no matter the results!
Thank you!!
Britt, Kate, and everyone involved would like to thank you for praying so fervently for Daisy. It has been amazing to see God working! You have played an important part in that. We are humbled and encouraged by so many praying around the world.
We’d like to ask that you continue to pray and intercede for sweet Daisy Love. While the results of surgery are a tremendous praise, recovery is and will be a daily battle. Cancer treatment will be long and arduous. While Britt and Kate are still awaiting pathology reports, they are looking ahead at 7 months of chemotherapy and possibly radiation treatments for Daisy.
We’d love for you to continue to pray with us on this long road.
Pray at all times and not lose heart. ~Jesus
